A UW-Madison alumna and self-proclaimed foodie, Sara brings a breadth of professional experience and an intense passion for local restaurants to Madison Originals. She joins MO from a Fortune 100 financial company and before that, spent nearly half of her career to date at an AdAge-award-winning marketing agency. Additionally, Sara works alongside international nonprofits and local businesses alike, guiding them in brand development, and strategic planning and marketing. Outside of work, Sara fuels her creative curiosity through music, cooking, baking, and making. You can also find her studying for her MBA, devouring podcasts and books on personal and professional growth, singing along at live shows, and eating her way through the menus of local restaurants. Additionally, she enjoys staying active, both solo and with her two little boys and rescue blue heeler pup.
Alex attended UWM with a focus in History, Sociology, and Journalism. She transferred to Madison in college in 2015, graduating with honors, Associates in Applied Science of Culinary Arts. While in school, Alex worked as a licensed administrator at Century 21 Affiliated from 2008-2018. She also bartended with the Food Fight Restaurant group at various locations from 2014-2018. In 2018, Alex did a brief stint at The Hilton Madison Monona Terrace in their Operations Supervisor training program. There, she learned her true passion in hospitality is restaurants, and she landed at Brasserie V as the Front of House Manager in August 2019.
Aimee Anderson is the Director of Operations for Buck & Honey's Restaurants. She has been in the restaurant business her entire life, growing up above a pizza place as a child, then becoming a corporate trainer for Maggiano's Little Italy out of Denver for 9 years. She has been with Buck & Honey's for 10 years now. Aimee was the general manager at their Sun Prairie location for approximately 7 years. Once they opened their Monona location in July of 2019, her role expanded to the Director of Operations. They have recently opened a 3rd location in Waunakee which is where she is currently spending most of her time. To say restaurant life is in her blood would be an understatement, as she enjoys all that comes along with it — the stresses, the joys and of course, the people!
Traci lives in Dane County and has been an Engagement Representative for the Wisconsin Restaurant Association for almost 8 years! She works with restaurateurs throughout southern and south-central Wisconsin helping them maximize their time, save money, and learn about industry trends and innovations. She also helps owners and operators understand and stay current with regulatory changes and maximize their time investment by leveraging services and resources available to both members and non-members. Because it’s good to know what's in your trade association “tool box!”
Ellen is a tax partner at Johnson Block and Company, a local Madison accounting firm. She focuses on tax planning and compliance for individual and business tax clients. Ellen grew up in Michigan and graduated with her law degree and MBA from Marquette University. She currently lives in Mt. Horeb and shares her home with her husband Patrick and four kitties, Murphy, Molly, Jameson, and Ginger.
JD is the owner-operator of North and South Seafood & Smokehouse. He lives in the Madison area with his wife, Taryn, and three kids: Kyler, Kallum, and Kendall. He has a long resume when it comes to the restaurant industry: from bartending at Northwoods Supper Clubs, working as a General Manager at one of the largest franchised restaurants in the country, to owning and operating a locally-owned restaurant and brand. Since moving his career to the local level, he has seen what an impact a great restaurant can have on a community. One of JD’s greatest assets is his social personality; he thrives in a career that allows him to meet so many different kinds of people. He is looking forward to what is ahead for North and South!
In 2007, Caleb Percevecz moved from Arizona to Madison to dive for UW Madison’s swimming and diving team. After graduating in 2012, he decided to buy a state street bar by the name of the “Tiki Shack.” He and his business partner wanted to try a different style bar/restaurant in 2016, which ultimately led to the closing of both the Tiki and Hail Mary Sports Grill. After learning restaurants the hard way, Caleb landed a management position at Oliver’s Public House, which then led him to his current position as Assistant General Manager at Quivey’s Grove.
Erin is a wife, a mother, and a restaurateur for over 15 years. She developed the restaurant and brand North and South Seafood & Smokehouse with her husband, Keith. She grew up in Texas, lived in Alaska, and now has been in the Madison area for 16 years. She is proud to be one of Madison’s Original restaurant concepts, and looks forward to what the future will bring.
After pursuing a B.B.A. in Finance at the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, Dan entered the banking industry and joined a Madison-based wealth management firm. He later co-founded LBW Wealth with other two partners in pursue of providing better services and public education. In 2016, he was awarded the Miriam Shulman Singer leadership award and was inducted into In Business’s “40 under 40” Class of 2017 and JFNA National Young Leadership Cabinet 2019.
