Marsh Shapiro's Nitty Gritty has been a popular bar and grill on the UW campus for 35 years, where restaurateurs Marsh and Susan Shapiro have been personally greeting patrons. Serving basic and gourmet burgers, specialty sandwiches and salads and wonderful homemade specials daily. An upstairs facility is also available for larger functions or celebrations. Family friendly atmosphere where 50 to 60 birthdays are celebrated daily at Madison's Official Birthday Place.
